Ilford families called on to support local children

Families in Ilford are being urged to consider becoming foster carers after it is revealed that more than 200 children were referred for fostering in Redbridge last year.

Welcome Foster Care will be holding a fostering information event at The Exchange Ilford (shopping centre, High Rd) on the 1st – 3rd February between 9am-5pm.  The event will allow Ilford residents to find out more about fostering.

Over 200 individual Children and Young People were referred to Welcome Foster Care for fostering in Redbridge last year, with a high number of sibling groups also seeking foster care. Welcome Foster Care are inviting families that have a spare room, the time and patience to become foster carers to stop by our stand on Wednesday 1st – Friday 3rd February to meet with us and find out more about fostering.

“My name is Shamim and I have been an approved foster carer with Welcome Foster Care since September 2014. During this time, I have fostered many different children from a variety of backgrounds and with varying needs. I love to make a difference in children’s lives and by becoming a full time foster carer I now have the time to dedicate to these children and young people to make them feel part of my family home”
